Dad graduated from Pawtucket West High School in June of 1955 and entered the Air force. He was sent to basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.
After basic training Dad was sent to Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls Montana. He spent the next four years there working on the planes. His job was to refuel airplanes while in flight. This required special training and a very steady hand.
To his disappointment he never flew the planes just worked on them. It was here that he damaged his hearing working without the proper ear protection.

Sometime in the late 70's early 80's dad did get to fly planes! He got his small pilot license from North Central Airport in Smithfield, RI. This brought him great joy!
